EV roadside assistance in Davie is a mobile charge or a 12V jump. That means Nova Southeastern lots, University Drive, and the western ranches. Charge Pro MIA connects you with independent local operators. They bring a 240V Level 2 source to the car. They quote you before they start and bill you directly.
Nova’s main campus is in Davie, not Miami
People still map Nova Southeastern to Miami, but the main campus is here. Broward College’s central campus sits in the same education cluster. Both belong to the South Florida Education Center. Nova Drive and University Drive feed that traffic all day. Cars sit through class blocks, labs, and night programs. Campus parking runs hot because those dwells stack up.
Campus dwell and a highway empty aren’t the same stall. The traction pack may still hold miles after a long class. The 12V that runs locks and computers may be dead. Broward’s heat and humidity age that small battery fast. Battery University notes that every 15F rise roughly halves lead-acid life. Heat damage doesn’t reverse. Students who parked through a break often return to a silent car.
East-side apartments add another layer to that stall. About 28.2% of Davie housing was built before 1980, per Census ACS 2019-2023. Older stock can make a wall unit hard to add. FPL serves Davie as the electric utility. FPL EVolution Home is the utility’s residential Level 2 program. Ask FPL for current details on that path. Don’t treat this referral line as an installer. If you already can’t plug in at home, a campus day thins your buffer.
East apartments versus the western ranches
Davie covers about 34.894 square miles in Broward County. Census ACS 2019-2023 puts the population at 106,412. The 2024 estimate is 112,052. On the east side, student and renter parking dominates the pattern. Cars stack along Nova Drive, University Drive, and Griffin Road. They idle after class with the AC running. NWS Miami normals put July and August average highs at 91F. A normal year sees about 64 days at or above 90F. Recurrent Auto studied about 30,000 EVs in its fleet data. It found about 5% range loss at 90F and about 17 to 18% at 100F. AAA’s 2019 SAE test found about a 17% drop at 95F with the AC on. Cooling a 95-degree cabin can take 3 to 5 kW at first. Holding it later takes about 1 kW. Those first minutes after a hot lot are the expensive ones.
West of Pine Island Ridge, the town opens into horse country. Rolling Oaks, Shenandoah, and the western ranches run toward Southwest Ranches. Distances stretch on those ranch roads, so a grocery run isn’t a few short blocks. You still shouldn’t blame hills for the range hit. Pine Island Ridge is Broward’s high point at about 29 feet. Miami-Dade’s Atlantic Coastal Ridge is about 23 to 24 feet. South Florida is flat across both counties. Range here is heat, air conditioning, and dwell.
Summer storms often run from about 2pm to 6pm. Low-lying streets can flood in heavy rain. Salt-laden humid air is hard on a 12V. If the car sat through a wet week, check that small battery first.
I-595, the Turnpike, and the surface grid
Stalls cluster on I-595, Florida’s Turnpike, University Drive, and SR-7. Griffin Road, Nova Drive, and Orange Drive see them too. 595 Express is owned by FDOT and it’s all-electronic. Use SunPass or toll-by-plate, since there’s no cash. If you stall on a limited-access lane, leave the travel lane when you can.
Florida Statute 316.194 covers stopping on a highway outside a municipality. Leave the vehicle off the main-traveled part where practicable. Leave room for passing traffic. Keep a clear view from 200 feet each way. A genuinely disabled vehicle that can’t be moved is exempt. Florida Statute 316.1945 lists places where stopping is banned. Dial *FHP (*347) for Florida Highway Patrol, which also reaches the Road Ranger Service Patrol. District 4 covers Broward. It patrols I-95 from the Miami-Dade line north. It also covers portions of I-595 from I-75 to NW 136 Avenue. The other I-595 piece runs from SR-7 to Port Everglades. Road Rangers jump-start vehicles and change flats on those routes. They also tow a disabled car from the travel lanes to a safe spot. That’s free under the FDOT program. Their published material doesn’t mention EV charging. A Level 2 top-up isn’t what they bring. That’s when drivers call for mobile EV charging.
If you’re already on the I-595 shoulder, stay with the car if it’s safe. Keep the hazards on, and don’t stand in a travel lane. Stalled on I-595 covers that limited-access stall.
Empty pack, or a 12V that won’t wake
Two failures get named “the EV died.” They aren’t the same job.
If the dash is dark, start with the 12V. A dead app or doors that won’t release point there too. Operators we connect you with jump or replace that battery on site. Tesla, Ford, Hyundai, Chevy, Rivian, and the rest still need it for computers and latches. Campus lots and week-long sits are classic for this. What happens when an EV 12V dies walks the climate piece.
If the car is awake and range is near zero, you need pack energy. Operators bring a 240V Level 2 source to the bumper. Tesla takes a native NACS plug. Other brands use a CCS or J1772 adapter. A typical session adds about 10 to 20 miles of range. That takes 15 to 30 minutes of charging. That’s charging time, not an arrival clock. The operator quotes the job, then does the work.
A tow is the wrong first move when a charge or jump will do. Flatbeds still matter after a crash or a flood-exposed pack. They also matter when you can’t shift the car. NHTSA warns that residual salt in a flooded lithium battery can short days later. About 36 EVs flooded by Hurricane Ian in 2022 later caught fire. Don’t drive or charge a flood-exposed EV until it’s inspected. Don’t park it within 50 feet of a structure.
Private lots add a tow risk of their own. Campus and apartment tows follow Florida Statute 715.07. If you appear before the car is fully removed, the operator must stop. They have to return the car. You pay no more than half the posted tow rate. Signs must be permanent and reflective at each access, with limited exceptions. In a county over 500,000 people, storage must sit within a 10-mile radius. Broward caps nonconsent rates under Code Section 20-176.22. Confirm the current posted figure with the yard. This page won’t invent it.
What a Davie rescue actually looks like
Charge Pro MIA is a referral line. We don’t hold a trade license, own trucks, or keep a yard. Independent operators do the work and handle Tesla plus every major EV brand. Florida had about 450,400 registered EVs in 2025, per DOE AFDC data.
You describe where you sat
Share the lot, the street, or the highway direction. Share make, model, and what the dash is doing. Say whether the car is unlocked. If you’re on I-595 or the Turnpike, say which shoulder.
The operator quotes you first
You get a quote before work starts, and you pay that operator directly. If the job is a 12V jump, say so. If you need range to reach a plug you already know, say how far. We don’t publish a station list on this page. The AFDC station feed didn’t resolve when this was researched on 2026-09-18. Name a destination you know. Don’t guess a “nearest” stall from here.
They plug in or jump, then you drive
They connect, add enough range to move, or wake the 12V. You leave under your own power when that’s possible. That’s the point of EV roadside assistance in a town this spread out. A western-ranch driveway is a long wrecker ride for an empty buffer.
We’re not FPL, and we’re not a panel shop. If you want a wall unit later, FPL EVolution Home is the published residential path. FPL also names a residential time-of-use rate for home charging. Ask FPL for current numbers. This page won’t invent them.
If you already rolled into the next city
Davie sits against Plantation, Cooper City, Pembroke Pines, Southwest Ranches, and Fort Lauderdale. A stall after campus may already be in Plantation on a weekday errand. A southbound miss may put you in Pembroke Pines sooner than you planned. The same referral line covers those Broward grids.
Call (786) 963-2995 when the car won’t move in Davie. We’ll connect you with a local operator. They quote before they start, and you decide from there.
