Tesla roadside assistance is included while you stay inside Tesla’s published Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty. That window is four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. After that Tesla bills the call. We couldn’t confirm a public 2026 fee sheet on Tesla’s support pages. Confirm the current charge in the Tesla app before you accept a truck. A local operator who quotes before starting is the other option for South Florida owners.
The cost question splits in two. Warranty status is the first split. The type of stall is the second. A flat tire on I-95 through Fort Lauderdale is one kind of call. A silent car in the Dolphin Garage at Miami International Airport is another. Those two jobs don’t cost the same. They don’t use the same truck either.
What Tesla publishes, and what you still have to check
Tesla’s Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty is the document that carries factory roadside help. Tesla publishes the term as four years or 50,000 miles. Confirm your own car in the Tesla app or on Tesla’s support site. Model year and delivery date change the window. An Extended Service Agreement or Certified Pre-Owned contract can change it too. We couldn’t verify a public rate card for out-of-warranty dispatch in 2026. Tesla can change what it bills without posting a stable number we can cite.
Services Tesla still lists under factory roadside
Tesla’s published roadside program usually covers a short list. Flat tire help is on that list. Lockout help is on that list. A jump or on-site visit for a dead 12-volt battery is often included. Towing for a warranty-covered defect is included too. Out-of-charge help, when Tesla accepts it, is usually a tow. That tow heads toward a Supercharger or a Tesla Service Center. Tesla generally doesn’t send a mobile charger to the car. That’s the miss South Florida drivers hit most.
Check Tesla’s current wording before you assume any item is free. User error, crash damage, and wear outside the warranty are billed. Tesla’s own pages are the authority, not this site. For what Tesla still dispatches, see the services Tesla roadside will still send.
Why a South Florida stall isn’t a generic Tesla call
South Florida is flat. Miami-Dade’s highest natural ground is the Atlantic Coastal Ridge at about 23 to 24 feet. Broward’s high point is Pine Island Ridge at about 29 feet. Range here isn’t a hill problem. Heat, air conditioning, and time sitting still are the drain.
NWS Miami normals put July and August average highs at 91F. A normal year sees about 64 days at or above 90F. Recurrent Auto studied about 30,000 EVs and found about 5 percent range loss at 90F. The loss rose to about 17 to 18 percent at 100F. They still explain a thin buffer after a Hard Rock Stadium exit in Miami Gardens.
The 12-volt battery is the other heat story. Battery University notes that every rise of about 15F halves lead-acid life. Heat damage doesn’t reverse. A Tesla that won’t wake after a week in MIA parking is often that small battery. The pack may still have range. The Dolphin, Flamingo, Ibis, and new Park 6 garages are where that call starts. The Ibis Garage lists ChargePoint ports. Park 6 lists charging on site. Don’t treat those as a promised open stall after a flight. PortMiami’s listed garages show no EV charging. Port Everglades lists none either. Condo parking in Miami Beach and Sunny Isles Beach is a different constraint from a driveway in Doral or Weston.
What factory roadside won’t do for an empty pack
An empty traction pack and a dead 12-volt are different jobs. Tesla roadside, when it accepts an out-of-charge request, generally arranges a flatbed. Tesla generally doesn’t bring a 240-volt source to the bumper. The operators Charge Pro MIA connects you with carry a 240V Level 2 source. They use a native NACS plug on Teslas. They carry CCS or J1772 adapters for other brands. Charging time is typically 15 to 30 minutes. That usually adds about 10 to 20 miles of range. That’s plug time, never a promise of when anyone arrives.
Charge Pro MIA doesn’t set the price. The operator quotes you before work starts and bills you directly. That quote is the number you can accept or refuse. Tesla’s billed tow, when you’re outside warranty, is a number you pull from Tesla. We couldn’t verify it here.
If the pack is empty and you want range where you sit, start with mobile EV charging. Out-of-charge recovery is the same job with a different name. If the screens are dark, start with a Tesla 12V battery jump.
Highway help that’s free, and still not a charge
If you’re in a travel lane on a state road, safety comes first. Florida Statute 316.194 says a vehicle should sit off the main-traveled part where practicable. A genuinely disabled vehicle that can’t move is exempt. Get out of the travel lane when you can. Then decide who to call.
The Road Ranger Service Patrol is Florida’s free highway service patrol, run by FDOT. Dial *FHP (*347). Road Rangers jump-start vehicles, change flat tires, and handle minor repairs. They also tow a disabled vehicle from the travel lanes to the nearest safe spot, at no charge. District 6 covers Miami-Dade on I-95, 95 Express, I-195, I-395, I-75, 75 Express, and SR-826, the Palmetto. District 4 covers Broward’s I-95 from the Miami-Dade line north, plus parts of I-595 and I-75.
No Road Ranger page we read mentions electric vehicles or EV charging. A Road Ranger can still jump a 12-volt or move you off a live lane. A Level 2 top-up isn’t a service they list. That’s the job a mobile operator quotes.
Florida’s Turnpike, the Homestead Extension, and the Sawgrass Expressway are run by Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. The Dolphin and the Airport Expressway are now Greater Miami Expressway Agency roads. All of those are all-electronic. None of those operators published a disabled-vehicle free-tow rule for express lanes that we could verify. Road Rangers do patrol those corridors. Don’t wait in an express lane for a mobile charge.
When a tow is the job, and who caps the bill
Some stalls still need a flatbed. Tesla can arrange that tow when the defect is under warranty. Outside warranty, Tesla can still arrange a truck and bill you. Confirm that bill with Tesla before the hook is on.
Private lots have their own rules. Florida Statute 715.07 governs towing from private property. The operator must stop and return the car if you appear before it’s fully removed. You pay no more than half the posted rate in that case. Storage in Miami-Dade and Broward must sit within a 10-mile radius. Miami-Dade caps nonconsent rates under Code Section 30-476. Broward uses Code Section 20-176.22. We couldn’t load the current dollar schedules. Don’t guess those caps. Ask the yard before you pay.
A Tesla often needs a flatbed, not a wheel-lift. Tell whoever you call that it’s an EV.
Factory coverage versus a local operator who quotes first
Tesla roadside is a factory program. It rides with the warranty, then it becomes a billed dispatch. The person Tesla sends is often a contractor, not a Tesla employee.
Charge Pro MIA is a referral line. We match stranded EV drivers with independent local mobile rescue operators. We hold no trade license, own no trucks, and employ no technicians. We set no prices and promise no arrival time. The operator who takes the job quotes you before starting. You hear the number while you still have a choice.
That split matters on a dead 12-volt after a Hard Rock Stadium event. It matters after a week at MIA. It matters when the pack hits empty on the Palmetto or the Dolphin. Tesla may offer a tow toward a Supercharger. A local operator may offer a Level 2 charge where you sit. Those are different products. Compare them on that basis, not on a number we invented.
Who sets a mobile charge price is a separate question. We walk through that in who sets the price when you need a mobile EV charge. Whether factory roadside stays free at all is in is Tesla roadside assistance free, and what isn’t covered.
What to do before you spend the call
Stay off the travel lane when you can. If you’re on a limited-access road, *FHP is the first safety call. Then open the Tesla app. See whether Tesla still shows complimentary roadside on this vehicle. If Tesla quotes a fee, write it down. Then decide whether you want a tow or range on site.
If the car is silent after sitting, treat it as a 12-volt job first. If the car is awake and the pack is at zero, treat it as an out-of-charge job. If a tire is flat, Tesla or a Road Ranger may be the cleaner first call.
For a local operator quote, call (786) 963-2995. We connect you with an independent pro who prices the job before work starts.
Frequently asked questions
How much is Tesla roadside assistance after the warranty ends
We couldn’t confirm a public 2026 Tesla fee schedule. Tesla bills out-of-warranty calls. The amount lives in Tesla’s app or support flow. Confirm it there before you accept dispatch. A local operator quotes a separate price for on-site charge or 12-volt work.
Does Tesla roadside assistance bring a charger to the car
Tesla generally doesn’t offer mobile charging. Out-of-charge help, when Tesla accepts it, is usually a tow toward a Supercharger or a service center. A local operator can bring a 240V Level 2 source to the bumper and add range where you sit.
Is Tesla roadside assistance free in South Florida
It’s complimentary only inside Tesla’s published Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty, four years or 50,000 miles, unless your Extended Service Agreement or CPO contract says otherwise. Location doesn’t change that window. Confirm your car on Tesla’s site. After the window, Tesla bills the visit.
