When your EV sits empty in South Florida, Charge Pro MIA doesn’t name the price. The independent operator who takes the job quotes it. That operator bills you directly. That’s the real answer to mobile EV charging service cost. The referral matches stranded drivers with local mobile rescue operators. It performs no work. It owns no trucks. It employs no technicians. It holds no licence. It publishes no hours. It sets no prices.
A lot of drivers want a number they can screenshot before they call. That figure isn’t on the brand site. Guessing one would be a lie. The person who sets the bill is the independent pro beside your car. You hear the quote before work starts. You pay that operator. You don’t pay a matching desk.
This search is really about tonight’s bill. The honest version is local and job by job. What you can know up front is who prices it. You can also know what they’re selling. You can know which other roadside bills are a different animal.
Who bills you, and who doesn’t
Charge Pro MIA is a referral line at https://www.chargepromia.com. It connects you with independent operators across South Florida. The brand doesn’t quote. The operator quotes. If you press the matching line for a rate, you won’t get a real one. Only the person rolling to you can see the distance. They can see the access and the work.
Florida Statute 934.03 is the all-party consent rule for recorded calls. If a line plays a recording notice, listen to it. A number left on voicemail isn’t the same as an on-site quote. Get the figure from the operator who’ll stand at your bumper.
Two calls on the same afternoon can land on two quotes. One driver is on a quiet street in Coral Gables. One is on the shoulder of SR-826, the Palmetto Expressway. Setup, safety cones, and how long the truck sits aren’t the same job. The operator prices the job they see.
Say the real place name. Coral Gables is a city. Kendall isn’t. Kendall is a census-designated place. So are Tamiami, Westchester, The Hammocks, Kendale Lakes, Princeton, and Leisure City. The City of Miami is one of 34 municipalities in Miami-Dade County. Most of what people call Miami is unincorporated county or another city. Naming only Miami makes the quote sloppy.
Hialeah has about 221,901 residents. Census figures put it at 95.2% Hispanic or Latino. Sweetwater and Tamiami sit in the same language pattern. If Spanish is easier, say so. The quote still belongs to the operator. The matching line doesn’t translate a price it never set.
What you’re actually buying
Mobile EV charging is a 240V Level 2 source brought to the car. The operator isn’t hauling you to a public stall first. The operator plugs in where you already are, if that spot is safe. Operators on this network bring a native NACS plug for Teslas. They carry a CCS or J1772 adapter for other brands. Typical charging adds about 10 to 20 miles of range. That usually takes 15 to 30 minutes of plug time. That window is charging time. It isn’t an arrival time. This line doesn’t promise when a truck will show.
Tesla, Rivian, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Chevy, and BMW can all sit on the other end of that adapter. Tell the operator the make and model. The quote should assume the right connector. A silent car isn’t always an empty pack. After a week in a garage, the 12V often died first. Operators can jump or replace that 12V on site. Those are different tasks. Mixing them is how the bill surprises people.
What shapes the operator’s quote
You won’t find a public rate card on the referral site. You can still know the levers the operator is weighing.
Where you’re sitting
South Florida isn’t one parking lot. A Brickell garage is one kind of access problem. A Key Biscayne causeway shoulder is another. A Hialeah side street isn’t a Weston on-ramp. Miami Beach is its own city, reached only by causeway. South Beach is a neighborhood of Miami Beach, not a separate city. Hollywood, Florida is in Broward County. None of that sets a published fee. All of it changes how long the operator is on site.
Malls and arenas add garage rules. Aventura Mall is one. Dadeland Mall in Kendall is another. Sawgrass Mills sits in Sunrise. Dolphin Mall is near Doral. Brickell City Centre, Bal Harbour Shops, and The Falls all mean security, ramps, and time. Kaseya Center is the current name of the downtown arena. Don’t call it by the old airline name. Hard Rock Stadium is in Miami Gardens. The F1 Miami Grand Prix is on that campus. There’s no Fort Lauderdale F1 race. loanDepot park in Little Havana uses a lowercase p. University of Miami’s main campus is in Coral Gables, not the City of Miami. FIU’s Modesto Maidique Campus sits in the Sweetwater and Tamiami area. Nova Southeastern’s main campus is in Davie. If you stall after a game or a class, name the venue and the level. The operator prices access, not the scoreboard.
How much energy you need
More minutes on the plug means more energy delivered. Ask for enough range to reach a charger you choose, or your own driveway. Don’t treat a truck as a full-pack fill unless the operator says that’s possible. Level 2 on a mobile source is a top-up. The out-of-charge recovery page walks the empty-pack case. A 12V jump is a separate line on the same visit if you need both.
Heat, not hills
South Florida is flat. Range here isn’t a mountain story. The highest natural point in Miami-Dade is the Atlantic Coastal Ridge at roughly 23 to 24 feet. In Broward it’s Pine Island Ridge at about 29 feet. Heat, air conditioning, and dwell eat the miles. Grade doesn’t.
NWS Miami climate normals for 1991-2020 put the July and August average high at 91F. A normal year sees about 64 days at or above 90F. Recurrent Auto studied about 30,000 EVs. That work found about 5% range loss at 90F. It found about 17 to 18% at 100F. It can take 3 to 5 kW to cool a 95-degree cabin. Then it takes about 1 kW to hold it. AAA’s 2019 SAE-standard test found about a 17% range drop at 95F with the AC on. Those numbers aren’t Tesla’s published figures. They’re independent tests. They’re why a trip that looked fine still ends on the shoulder in August.
Home power versus a roadside quote
Florida Power and Light serves essentially all of Miami-Dade and all of Broward. Homestead is the confirmed exception. Parts of the City of Homestead sit on Homestead Public Services Energy. Other parts sit on FPL. The exact street split is on a city map that’s hard to read on a phone. Confirm with HPS Energy at homesteadfl.gov. No EV-specific program was found on HPS Energy’s pages on 2026-09-18. That’s an observed absence, not proof that none exists.
FPL EVolution is the utility’s public charging brand. FPL EVolution Home is the residential Level 2 install-and-maintain program. FPL also publishes a residential Time-of-Use rate for home charging. None of those pages is a mobile rescue price. Home kilowatt-hours and a truck on the shoulder are different bills from different people. For what shapes home Tesla charging, see what shapes Tesla charging costs for South Florida drivers. Dollar figures from those programs are left off this page on purpose. They go stale.
Older housing often can’t take a wall box. North Miami is 82.7% pre-1980 stock. Miami Springs is 89.5%. Golden Glades is 83.6%. Hollywood is 74.7%. Lauderhill is 67.3%. Hialeah is 60.1%. Newer stock is the other end. Doral is 5.5% pre-1980. Parkland is 1.7%. Weston is 7.0%. If you rent in a 1960s building, you may already live on public plugs. A mobile charge is the backup when that plan fails. It still gets priced by the operator, not by the age of the block.
Florida had about 450,400 registered EVs in 2025, per DOE AFDC registration data. That’s a state total. A Miami-Dade or Broward split couldn’t be confirmed from the same read. Volume in the state doesn’t set your quote.
If you’re already on a highway
Safety first. Then the quote. Florida Statute 316.194 says a vehicle outside a municipality should sit off the main-traveled part where practicable. Leave room for passing traffic. Leave a clear view from 200 feet each way. 316.194(2) exempts a genuinely disabled vehicle that can’t practicably be moved off the road. Statute 316.1945 covers other places you may not stop. Read what Florida law says to do on the freeway before you start walking.
The Road Ranger Service Patrol is Florida’s free highway patrol, run by FDOT. Dial *FHP (*347) from a cell phone. Rangers jump-start vehicles. They make minor repairs. They change flat tires. They provide gas, diesel, and water. They also tow a disabled vehicle from the travel lanes to the nearest safe location. That’s all free of charge. District 6 covers Miami-Dade on I-95, 95 Express, I-195, I-395, I-75, 75 Express, and SR-826. District 4 covers Broward on I-95 from the Miami-Dade line north. It also covers portions of I-595 from I-75 to NW 136 Ave, and from SR-7 to Port Everglades. It covers I-75 from the Miami-Dade line to mile marker 50. Material we read on 2026-09-18 doesn’t mention electric vehicles or EV charging. Rangers still jump a 12V. They still move you off a travel lane. A Level 2 charge isn’t a Road Ranger task. Independent operators on this network do that work. They bill it themselves.
Florida Highway Patrol takes disabled-motorist reports at the same *347 code. Florida 511 at FL511.com is FDOT’s traffic feed in English and Spanish. Use it for closures while you wait in a safe spot.
Toll roads here take no cash. Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise runs the Turnpike, the Homestead Extension, and the Sawgrass Expressway. FDOT owns 95 Express and 595 Express. The Greater Miami Expressway Agency took over the old MDX roads in 2023. Those roads are SR-112, SR-836 the Dolphin, SR-874 the Don Shula, SR-878 Snapper Creek, and SR-924 the Gratigny. All of them use SunPass or toll-by-plate. No facility we read publishes a disabled-vehicle free-tow unique to express lanes. Road Rangers do patrol those corridors. Don’t invent a special EV exception. If you’re in a lane you can’t leave, start with *347.
A wrecker is a different bill
Private property tows follow Florida Statute 715.07. If you appear before the car is fully removed, the operator must stop and return it. You pay no more than one-half the posted tow rate. The property needs a permanent, reflective, correctly sized tow-away sign at each access. That sign must be posted at least 24 hours ahead. The exceptions are a single-family home, or when personal notice was given. In a county of 500,000 or more, the car must be stored within a 10-mile radius. Miami-Dade and Broward both qualify. Release should happen within one hour of request. The operator must file its rate schedule with local law enforcement. It must post that schedule at the storage site.
Nonconsent tow rates are capped by county ordinance. Miami-Dade uses Code Section 30-476. Broward uses Code Section 20-176.22. The dollar caps weren’t confirmed on 2026-09-18. The county pages wouldn’t load. Ask the yard for the posted schedule before you pay. A blog that invents a tow number isn’t help.
A mobile charge and a flatbed are different jobs. Different people send the invoice. Compare them that way. The charge on site or tow post walks the choice without fake dollar columns.
Airports, cruise lots, and a dead 12V
A week in long-term parking is the call this network hears a lot. The car looks totally dead. The traction pack is often fine. The 12V died keeping systems alive. Almost nobody in that moment knows the difference. Miami’s heat makes it worse. Every roughly 15F rise in temperature halves the life of a lead-acid battery. It ages about twice as fast at 93F versus 77F. It ages about four times as fast at 111F. Heat damage can’t be reversed. That mechanism is from Battery University. It’s why so many EVs won’t wake after sitting.
Miami International Airport public parking includes the Dolphin Garage at the North Terminal. It includes the Flamingo Garage at the Central Terminal. It includes the Ibis Garage. The airport page says Ibis holds ChargePoint EV ports across its levels. Park 6 is the new long-term garage that opened in summer 2026, with EV charging on site. The off-airport Park and Ride sits at 1350 NW 45 Ave. Parking rates and exact port counts aren’t published here. They go stale. The port count wasn’t independently confirmed.
PortMiami cruise parking lists northside Garages A, AA, B, C, D, F, and G. It lists southside Garages J and K, plus surface Lot E. Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale lists the Heron and Palm garages and surface lots. Capacity there is over 5,500 vehicles. If you walk off a ship to a silent car, start with the 12V question. A pack top-up is a different quote if the high-voltage battery is actually empty.
Name the smaller fields correctly if that’s where you left the car. Miami Executive is TMB, formerly Kendall-Tamiami. Miami-Opa Locka Executive is OPF. Fort Lauderdale Executive is FXE. North Perry is HWO, in Pembroke Pines. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International garage details couldn’t be confirmed from the airport site on the research date. Don’t guess a stall count or a parking rate there.
Memberships don’t set this price
AAA, Tesla roadside, Allstate, Geico, USAA, and the carmaker plans each write their own rules. A single verified rule that they all pay for a mobile Level 2 charge couldn’t be confirmed. Call your own provider. Ask if they dispatch a charge, a 12V jump, or only a tow. Ask if they reimburse an independent operator. Write down the answer. Then still take the operator’s quote on scene. That’s the bill in your hand tonight.
If Tesla roadside is still on the car, use the path Tesla publishes in the app. Local operators remain the people who quote a Level 2 truck after a Charge Pro MIA match. Those doors don’t price each other. The pros this network connects you with are licensed and insured. The brand itself isn’t licensed or insured.
Storms, tides, and a different kind of call
Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Miami-Dade evacuations are ordered by the County Mayor using Storm Surge Planning Zones. Zone A is the highest risk and includes Key Biscayne. Zone B includes Miami Beach and Brickell. Broward uses Plan A for Category 1-2, east of the Intracoastal. Plan B is for Category 3 and above, east of US-1. Evacuation routes north are I-95, Florida’s Turnpike, and I-75. Emergency Shoulder Use is possible. FPL tells EV owners to keep the pack between 50 and 80% through the season. Unplug during the storm. Don’t charge or drive a flood-exposed EV until it’s inspected. The Florida Division of Emergency Management has deployed temporary EV chargers along the I-75 evacuation corridor. That’s a state storm program. It isn’t this referral’s price list.
NHTSA warns that residual salt in a flooded lithium battery can bridge and short. Fires can start days to weeks later. A flood-exposed EV shouldn’t be parked within 50 feet of a structure. It shouldn’t be driven or charged until inspected. About 36 EVs flooded by Hurricane Ian in 2022 later caught fire. Tell the operator if the car took water. A dry top-up quote is the wrong job.
King tides and sunny-day flooding run mainly September through November. They last about three hours each. They hit Miami Beach, the Fort Lauderdale Las Olas Isles, Hollywood, and other low coastal streets. Summer thunderstorms are near-daily, roughly 2pm to 6pm. Water in the charge port is a separate problem from an empty pack. Neither one has a published extra on this site. The operator on scene decides if they can work.
How to call so the quote is real
Leave a location a truck can use. Give the city or CDP, the road, the direction, and a mile marker or cross street. Give the make and model. Say whether the car is silent or showing an empty pack. Say whether you’re in a travel lane, on a shoulder, in a garage, or in a surface lot. Say whether you already called *347. That file is what the operator uses.
Charge Pro MIA still won’t name a dollar figure. The operator will, before starting. If you don’t like the quote, you can decline. You aren’t on the hook for work that hasn’t begun.
For a public stall versus a truck to you, read Need a rapid charger, or a truck that comes to you. City-by-city context lives on the South Florida EV charging hub.
How to need this less often
Charge at home when the building allows it. FPL’s Time-of-Use rate is built for overnight charging. Look up the current window on fpl.com. This page won’t print the cents. In a pre-1980 condo, a Level 2 install may never get a board vote. Public plugs plus a rescue plan is then the backup, not a failure.
Don’t drive the pack to zero to see what happens. Heat already shaved the estimate. AC in July shaves more. Plan the last 20 miles as if they’re shorter than the dash says. That isn’t a scare line. It’s how Recurrent Auto and AAA measured summer range.
If you commute toward Alligator Alley, Weston, Sunrise, and Pembroke Pines are the last dense suburban grid before the run west. Get off a travel lane before you shop for help. The same idea holds on the Homestead Extension, the Dolphin, the Palmetto, and I-95 through Fort Lauderdale. Move to a safe spot first. Then talk to an operator about a charge.
Keep the matching number saved. It’s a connection line, not a promise that a truck is around the corner. When you need that match, call (786) 963-2995. The operator you’re connected with still sets the price. The operator still bills you directly.
Frequently asked questions
Who sets the mobile EV charging service cost?
The independent operator sets it and bills you. Charge Pro MIA is a referral. It doesn’t quote, and it doesn’t invoice the job. You should hear the figure before work starts. If you need the current number, that conversation is with the operator, not a blog.
How much range does a mobile charge add?
Operators on this network typically add about 10 to 20 miles of range. Charging time is usually 15 to 30 minutes. That’s plug time, not travel time. It’s a Level 2 top-up with a NACS plug or a CCS or J1772 adapter. It isn’t a DC fast fill of the whole pack.
Does AAA or Tesla roadside pay this bill?
Coverage varies by plan and couldn’t be confirmed as a single rule. Ask your own membership or insurer whether they dispatch a charge, jump a 12V, or only tow. Ask whether they reimburse an independent operator. Then still take the on-site quote. That’s what you pay tonight unless your plan says otherwise in writing.
Empty pack on a South Florida road is a logistics problem. It isn’t a mystery rate on a brand page. The referral connects you. The operator prices the work. The operator bills you. Stay off the travel lane. Say where you really are. Don’t pay anyone who won’t quote first.
